superbowl treat: marbled cheesecake brownies

For Superbowl I decided to make a treat that combines two all time favorite desserts: brownies and cheesecake. They're easy and fun to make, and are always popular among guest! They just may have been so good they helped my team win the superbowl - Go GIANTS!

Ingredients
For brownie batter: 1 stick of butter, 2 oz unsweetened chocolate (chopped), 1 cup of sugar, 2 large eggs, 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract, 2/3 cups all purpose flour, pinch of salt
For cheesecake batter: 8 oz cream cheese, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 large egg yolk, 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Preparation
To make the brownie batter: Preheat the oven to 350 F. Butter an 8-inch square pan (or round in my case). Heat the butter and chocolate in a 3-quart heavy sauce pan over low heat. Whisk occasionally, until melted.Remove from the heat and whisk in sugar, eggs, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until combined. Whisk in flour and spread into the baking pan.
To make the cheesecake batter: Whisk together cheesecake batter ingredients until smooth. Dollop over the brown batter, then swirl together with a knife.
Bake until the edges are slightly puffed and the center has settled - about 35 minutes

Cut & Serve!
